In 2009, Jayantha joined CCES as a consultant and academic following a career of more than 30 years in the Sri Lanka Customs Service. During his service with Sri Lanka Customs, he worked in policy, enforcement, automation and border management areas. Since joining CCES, Jayantha has undertaken many international Customs training programs for Customs administrations. He is one of the Unit Convenors for Customs Reform and Modernisation and Regulatory Compliance Management.
Jayantha has an in depth understanding of international customs policies, procedures, issues in customs modernisation, coordination of projects within the organisation and other stakeholders, systems study, business process reengineering, designing of simplified customs documents, taxation references and computer based training.
He holds a Masters Degree in International Customs Law and Administration from the University of Canberra.
