Andy is currently a serving police officer with Northumbria Police in Northern England with twenty three years service, eighteen of which have been within the Crime Investigations Department and has recently began a career break from that service to lecture at Charles Sturt University.
Andy has specialised in both reactive and pro-active policing methods on a wide range of serious crime investigations including high profile Murders, Robbery, Sex Crimes and Drug Importation. He is a trained surveillance operative and has also conducted many roles within the crime intelligence arena including Strategic and Tactical intelligence roles and Covert Human Intelligence Handling to an Advanced Level.
Andy has recently been a member of the Investigative Skills Department training Senior Investigating Officers, Detective Inspectors and Detective Sergeants in investigation of Serious Crime, Investigative Decision Making and Policy writing as well as Investigative Interviewing to Tier 5, Detective Constables and other officers in Investigative Interviewing Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 5 for both witness and suspect interviewing. He has also developed training programmes for Strategic, Operational Intelligence and Covert Human Intelligence Source management.
Andy is currently studying at Lancaster University to attain an MSc in Investigative Expertise.
