For the past 7 years, Phil was a Specialist Fire Investigator with the New Zealand Fire Service in Auckland, New Zealand. He undertook more than 400 investigations into the origin and cause of fires, including fires suspected of being arson, and fires involving fatalities, serious injury, and significant value losses.
With the support of the Fire Service, Phil completed his Master of Fire Investigation degree through Charles Sturt University, graduating with Distinction in 2016.
Phil has been supporting post-graduate students in Fire Investigation studies with Charles Sturt's Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, as an adjunct lecturer, subject coordinator and subject writer since 2016.
Phil is currently marking executive assignments for the Australian Institute of Policing Management.
Phil grew up in Sydney's southern suburbs and has recently returned to Australia.
