Rocco is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who has had extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of Anxiety Disorders and related conditions. His particular areas of interest, both from a clinical and research perspective, are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder and related conditions. He has published in peer reviewed journals, written treatment manuals and written and co-written book chapters in his areas of clinical and research interest.
He has held a number of senior positions in Clinical Psychology including Head of the Department of Psychology at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Director of the Anxiety Disorders Unit, St Vincent’s Hospital, and was previously Head of the Division of Psychology for The Bankstown Hospital and Area Health Services. He has also held administrative positions including Allied Health Representative of Mental Health Services at St Vincent’s Hospital and area Health Services and Director of Academic Program (Clinical and Health Psychology) at the University of Western Sydney.
Rocco has taught in a number of training programs in Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry and has been a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at UNSW, Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, University of Sydney, Senior Lecturer and then Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at University of Western Sydney. He has also been involved in delivering numerous clinical workshops, seminars and lectures throughout Australia to Psychologists, Psychiatrists, GPs and Mental Health professionals in the assessment and treatment of Anxiety Disorders, BDD, OCD and related conditions.
