The Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security has a global reputation as a leading provider of research and education for professionals in law enforcement, regulation, emergency management and security.
The School places practical scholarship and pedagogy ahead of abstract theory and consequently our students learn to bring critical perspectives to their work and meet the complex challenges faced by professionals in a fast changing world. Our graduates have the creative intellectual capacity and skills which are sought out to fill senior positions in policing, compliance, security, and emergency management by law enforcement, regulators and blue chip companies. Our courses and programs combine theory and knowledge with strategic law enforcement, intelligence, emergency management, public safety, fraud prevention, counter terrorism and security studies.
The School continues to grow through close collaboration with law enforcement, regulators, universities, research bodies, private industry and emergency services providers in Australia and overseas, with our courses attracting students from around the globe. AGSPS also provides education and training programs in Abu Dhabi, China, India, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore and Canada.
In 2013 the School absorbed the under graduate courses previously offered by the School of Policing and joined with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies in Canberra to become the world's largest provider of university education in law enforcement, counter-terrorism, emergency management, customs and border security studies.
The School has launched a new Terrorism Studies website. Applications are now open for the 2017 face-to-face program in Canberra.
Our Faculty staff are leaders in their fields of teaching and research and combine significant professional experience with academic expertise.
We recognise that busy professionals require access to high quality courses which are intellectually challenging and fit with their career and lifestyle commitments. Our online courses are quality assured and provide global perspectives and intellectual rigour in areas of contemporary practice.

This internationalised degree is designed to prepare and develop the professional practice of those entering or working in this rapidly emerging field. Public safety and security agencies include the emergency services as well as the many other government and private sector bodies which help protect our communities and prepare for, respond to and rehabilitate after disasters and attacks. This course will also benefit those involved, or wanting to be involved, in national security whether that be protecting our borders, or responding to the threat of terrorism. Practitioners looking for promotion or wishing to diversify their career are likely to be eligible for credit in recognition of their previous training and work experience and on-line delivery means that students have the flexibility required to balance their work, home and study obligations.
