MEmergMgt Andrew is an emergency management practitioner with experience in local government, health and education. Andrew’s emergency management experience is foundered on a background including policing, nursing, compliance management and investigations. Andrew has joined CSU to assist the emergency management sector grow and move to professionalisation. Andrew has experience as a subject coordinator with QUT Online in the graduate certificate emergency management program and a marker with CSU’s emergency management courses. Andrew submitted a research dissertation in his Master of Emergency Management course focusing on planning for spontaneous volunteers after an emergency Andrew’s thesis for the Doctor of Public Safety, he examined emergency management planning for domestic family violence before, during and after an emergency. This research identified significant gaps in planning by the sector. The research converted the risks contained within the literature and research into risks that can be assessed utilizing current sector risk assessment tools.
