PhD (Applied Economics), B Comm (First Class Honours) (Econ), B. Acc, B. Econ Nicola has over 10 years industry experience in arboriculture and urban land management. Using her industry experience Nicola has a research focus on soil carbon, climate change and agricultural land use, integrating her knowledge of soil dynamics from her previous horticultural studies and work in urban land management. Prior to joining CSU Nicola worked in private sector consulting focused on environmental projects. Some of the projects she led included climate change impacts on Victorian roads, agricultural land use evaluation, developing Lake Eildon houseboat greywater treatment and discharge specifications, evaluation of water basins including infrastructure investment, economic impact of climate risk, licence allocation and activation. Nicola’s research focus is on food supply, biodiversity and agricultural production processes combining biophysical and economic elements to improve agricultural productivity and reduce the impact of climate change on food supply. Nicola has co-ordinated a range of subjects including Macroeconomics, Financial Management, Climate Change Economics and Public Policy, Business Economics, Economics of Innovation, Water Basin Planning and Evaluation and Digital Business at several institutions across Australia.
