His outstanding research outputs and fast-growing international research profile has earned him various research grants including the prestigious and generous Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship in 2019 for his doctoral studies, and the ECU-Fuji Xerox Higher Degree by Research Excellence Award.
Peter’s current research explores how various procurement strategies drive sustainable innovation behaviour among supply networks, improve product and operational outcomes, and suppliers’ capabilities for transitioning to circular business models. Peter’s high-impact research has been published in reputable international journals including those listed as top-ranked in the Australian Business Deans Council journal quality list such as Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Manpower, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Journal of Public Affairs, and Resources, Conservation & Recycling.
Teaching
Peter's teaching approach seeks to positively affect the present and future of students through student-centred learning. He strives to realize this goal through the problem-based learning approach. With this approach, he acts as a moderator and facilitator of the learning environment in class, online, and on field trips where students learn through practical experience of solving real-world management problems related to theoretical concepts. Assuming this role, he allows students to participate and engage in the learning process which enhances their learning experience and to conceptualize their own understanding of the issues discussed. Problem-based learning aims to help the students gain more confidence in the knowledge acquired and develop self-directed learning, effective collaboration skills, intrinsic motivation, and an open mind in problem-solving (essential for today’s job market).
