Prior to a career in academia Warwick was employed for many years by global professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), working mostly on clients in the technology, information or entertainment industries. He finished his time with PwC as an audit manager and joined CSU in July 2004 after a brief time spent teaching social sciences in secondary schools. His teaching focus since then has been on has been on introductory accounting, financial accounting and auditing subjects. Warwick has previously served as the Faculty's Sub Dean Learning and Teaching and recently received his PhD on the tensions between autonomy and accountability in Australian public secondary schools. He is an active committee member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (Western NSW) and is the treasurer for a number of community groups.
