Dr Gea Rahman is a Lecturer in Computing at Charles Sturt University (CSU). He is a Data Scientist and aims to utilize his expertise in the area of data science collaboratively to solve real-world problems, and to share this knowledge through scholarly research and teaching activities.

He received his PhD in Computer Science (Specialization: Data Science and Machine Learning) from CSU, and he completed his Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science and Technology from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. He was awarded a Gold Medal for securing the highest mark among the students of the entire Science faculty.

Gea has more than 17 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior to joining CSU, he was a Professor at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). Moreover, he was a Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (PGD-in-ICT) Programme at BAU. Besides, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Université de Strasbourg, France, and CSU.

His research activities have concentrated on the areas of data science, machine learning, ensemble learning, deep learning, data pre-processing, data mining, transfer learning, incremental learning, and their diverse applications. So far, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in top-quality journals [such as IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (CORE A*), Patter Recognition (CORE A*), Knowledge and Information Systems, and Expert Systems with Applications] and conferences [such as IJCNN (CORE A), AusDM (CORE B), and ADMA (CORE B)]. He received a number of awards, including Global Research Impact Recognition Award 2020, Best Presentation Award, Writing Up Award 2014, Best Researcher Award, and Best Paper Award.

Gea is serving as a reviewer/editorial/PC member of several journals and conferences, including PR, KBS, ESWA, JIPS, ACI, CCC, and AusDM. Recently, he has been invited as an "Invited Speaker" from the Robotics & AI Research Conference (RoboAICon2023), 23 March 2023 to 25 March 2023, Rome, Italy.

Dr Rahman has supervised several postgraduate research students as principal supervisor and co-supervisor. Potential PhD students are welcome to contact Dr Rahman via email at grahman@csu.edu.au to discuss the possibilities of any scholarships.
