Louis Hourany is a highly accomplished technology leader and educator, with a profound journey that stretches across continents from Australia to the United Arab Emirates.

Significant leadership roles, including Director of IT at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Founder-Consultant of the Australian Learning Community an NGO specialising in Cisco (up to CCNP train the trainer) certification training, Founder-Consultant for OzConsultants a firm specialising in implementing strategies using the ACSC maturity model and other frameworks like NIST Special publication 800 - 39 Managing information security risk, ITIL, and several pivotal information systems management and strategic planning positions mark his career.

With a robust educational background, including a Master of Information Technology and numerous certifications, Louis has been instrumental in steering organisations towards achieving strategic goals through technological innovation and excellence. Leading large-scale projects, such as design, architecture, and implementation of strategies to reduce client-company expenditure, including Networks, servers, systems and applications, Cloud (implementation and transitions in different implementation models), data centre renovations, and developing comprehensive IT infrastructures, have characterised his tenure at various organisations.

Teaching Responsibilities

With a robust educational background, including a Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training, Louis Hourany's teaching philosophy is underpinned by a commitment to integrating real-world experiences and technology into the learning environment. He believes in empowering students by providing them with the tools and knowledge to navigate and lead in the technological landscape of the 21st century. Louis champions a learner-centred approach, emphasising the importance of adaptability, critical thinking, and continuous improvement. Through a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application, he aims to cultivate a culture of innovation, creativity, and lifelong learning among his students, preparing them to meet the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
