PhD (Mech Eng), MMechatronics Eng, BMechEng, Cert IV Eng Drafting, Cert IV TAE Dr. Ummul Baneen is a Lecturer in Engineering at Charles Sturt University with more than 18 years of experience in engineering higher education. She completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New South Wales, where her research focused on vibration-based structural damage identification. Prior to joining Charles Sturt University, she held academic positions involving teaching, curriculum development, student supervision and engineering research with expertise in structural health monitoring, vibration analysis, non-destructive testing and condition monitoring. Dr. Baneen has published in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings in the fields of structural health monitoring and vibration analysis. At Charles Sturt University, she contributes to the delivery of undergraduate engineering education, teaching core mechanical engineering subjects and supporting students in developing strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills. Dr. Baneen teaches undergraduate mechanical engineering subjects within the Bachelor of Engineering program. Her teaching areas include Engineering Mechanics, Dynamics, and Mechanics of Machine, with expertise spanning strength of materials, thermodynamics, engineering drawing and CAD, and mechanical vibrations.
