Associate Professor Muhammad Arif Khan (PhD, MS, BSc, GCLTHE, GCULM) is the Sub Dean (Graduate Studies) for the Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences and Associate Professor (Computing) in the School of Computing, Mathematics and Engineering at Charles Sturt University, Australia. He has over 25 years of experience in higher education, spanning teaching, research, service, and university leadership and management. Arif's current research interests include Quantum Information Science & Technology, Wireless Communication Theory and Networks, Cyber Security and related areas. He has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles and international conference publications in these areas of research. He has supervised more than 10 Higher Degree Research (HDR) students in the above areas of research, including Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Professional Doctoral candidates. He has also led Charles Sturt University research initiatives with external organisations such as the NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN), Connectivity Innovation Network (CIN) and Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSRC). Arif has held several academic leadership positions at Charles Sturt University. He is currently appointed as Sub Dean (Graduate Studies) for the Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences where he is responsible for all HDR related matters across the faculty. Previously, he served as a Course Director for IT and Computing programs in the School of Computing, Mathematics and Engineering from 2015-2018. Arif holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electronic Engineering from Macquarie University, Sydney where he was a recipient of the international Macquarie University Research Scholarship (iMURS) and a CSIRO ICT scholarship for his PhD. He earned a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, supported by a competitive national scholarship, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (UET Lahore), one of the country's leading engineering universities. He also holds Graduate Certificates in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (GCLTHE) and University Leadership and Management (GCULM) from Charles Sturt University. Arif has developed and taught a number of subjects in the School of Computing and Mathematics, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences, Charles Sturt University. He has used innovative technologies and pedagogies in his subject design and teaching both in the class and online. Some of the subjects where he has been involved in design and teaching are: Administrative Responsibilities Arif's broad research interests are, but not limited to, in MIMO wireless systems, ad-hoc networks and communication & computer system security. He is also interested in wireless body area networks, cloud computing architecture and security and resource allocation in wireless systems.
