Maumita joined CSU in mid 2004 as a lecturer in computing. As an academic, Maumita has been involved in teaching and research in various domains of Computer Science and Engineering. Her primary research interests are engineering and applications of various Natural Computation techniques, specifically the dynamics of Evolutionary Computation.
