Dr Sabih Rehman

Sabih works as a Senior Lecturer with the School of Computing and Mathematics at Charles Sturt University, Australia. Currently, Sabih is also serving as the Course Director for Post Graduate IT courses. He has extensive industry experience in delivering large scale networking solutions along with providing system administration, security and data integration services.

Sabih holds a doctorate in the area of wireless sensors communication from Charles Sturt University. Earlier, Sabih obtained his Bachelor's degree from University of South Australia, Adelaide in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with Honours.

Sabih is passionate about teaching and is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve student engagement by embedding practical knowledge of concepts and theories. Moreover, he is also passionate about internationalisation and globalisation of higher education and has been actively involved in international offering of Charles Sturt’s IT programs.

Sabih's research expertise are in the areas of Wireless Communication, Big Data Analytics and Information Security with a particular focus on Quality of Service (QoS), Wireless Propagation Modeling, Knowledge Discovery through data mining, Mathematical and stochastic modeling and distributed networks security via blockchain.

Sabih regularly publishes his research and serves as a reviewer for a number of respected journals and conferences. He is a member of Institute of Engineers Australia (IEAust), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), International Education Association of Australia and Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Research

Sabih’s current research is focused on the emerging areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics and Big Data Analytics especially in the domains of Precision Agriculture, E-Health, Intelligent Transport Systems and Environmental Sustainability, with the aim to positively influence social, economic and environmental sustainability of communities in rural Australia via digitally enabled solutions.
