Robin Caulfield

UCWE Course Manager
NSW Police Academy, McDermott Drive Goulburn NSW 2580 Australia

Robin joined Charles Sturt University in May 2010. This followed an extensive police career spanning 30 years as a Police Officer in South Yorkshire Police in the United Kingdom.

Following his retirement from the police he was employed by the Education Department (Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council) in the capacity of Assistant Head of Year 11 Kirk Balk Secondary School (High School) Hoyland, Barnsley. This involved working with children aged between 11 years and 16 years. With a specific responsibility for children who "did not easily engage in learning". For the very first time in July 2010 not one student left Kirk Balk Secondary School without a recognised qualification.

Following working within the Education Department, Robin took up another opportunity within the Local Authority as: The Family Intervention Project Manager. This role exposed him to partnership working and coordinating the work of other agencies under the ambit of a Family Intervention contract, in an effort to break down the cycle of dysfunctional families persistently offending and being involved in anti-social behaviour.

Since arriving at the School of Policing in 2010, Robin has fulfilled a number of academic roles including ADPP subject and session coordination and Associate Head of School. Robin is also an IASP Tutor.
