Ben completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) and PhD at the University of Western Sydney (UWS), and a Masters of Organisational Psychology at Macquarie University. Ben is a Senior Lecturer and Organisational Psychologist, and has worked in various academic and professional settings, including law enforcement, military, and professional sport.

Ben’s research and practice focuses on organisational psychology issues, including human factors, cognitive engineering, cyber-security, safety, human-computer interaction, automation, psychological assessment, and human performance and decision-making.

Teaching

Ben has taught in a range of university level units including research methods, human learning and cognition, applied cognition and human performance, psychological assessment, biology and perception, personality, professional issues, and organisational psychology. He has held several research and teaching roles across a number of institutions including UWS, UNSW, Macquarie University, and ACAP.

Research

Ben’s research and practice focuses on organisational psychology issues, including human factors, cognitive engineering, cyber-security, safety, human-computer interaction, automation, psychological assessment, and human performance and decision-making.

Ben is currently working on projects relating to expertise in cyber security, the impact of automation on the professions, and psychology education using Virtual Reality (VR).
