Charini completed her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, Astrophysics) at Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio, USA and completed her PhD at Deakin University, Geelong, Victoria. At Deakin, Charini was part of the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index research team for a number of years.
