PhD (Psych), BSc (Hons), BTh Robyn completed her post graduate studies and doctorate at Charles Sturt. Her PhD dissertation was on pregnancy-related anxiety. Since then Robyn has continued to research this distinct anxiety and is currently a co-editor of a book on the topic and published numerous papers. More broadly speaking, Robyn’s research interest extends to all types of anxiety and other areas of women’s psychosocial health (e.g. body image, sexual abuse and pregnancy). Robyn currently teaches 1st and 2nd year subjects and is a subject convenor for both levels, in addition to supervising honours and post graduate students. She has also participated in major subject reviews of 1st and 2nd year subjects (PSY102 and PSY201). Robyn has a keen interest in using online technologies and enhancing student’s engagement and is the co-lead in a current research project, using sequential mixed-methods, assessing the effectiveness of different technologies/approaches used in past subjects. Robyn is the subject convenor for 1st year subject, Foundations of Psychology II, and has taught this subject since 2017. In addition Robyn is the subject convenor of Developmental and Social Psychology, a subject that she co-developed. Robyn also supervises a number of honours, clinical masters and post graduate students. Robyn's research interest is women’s psychosocial health with a focus on perinatal women (from conception to 12 months post-partum) and the impact of childhood adversity and psychopathology during pregnancy for both the mother and child. She is also interested in understanding how to enhance teaching using technology. Currently Robyn is involved in the following projects:
