Miss Laura Delli-Pizzi is a Scholarly Teaching Fellow in the School of Psychology and is based at Bathurst campus. Laura has a background in primary school and early childhood teaching and specialised in teaching students with additional needs and those from non-English speaking backgrounds before undertaking study in psychology. In her teaching and marking work at Charles Sturt University, Laura has had a particular passion for providing effective feedback to assist students in developing their academic writing skills. Her main teaching interests include developmental psychology, introductory statistics, and social psychology.

Laura has worked on research projects both within the School of Psychology and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Her main research interests include childhood development, psychology of learning, and school-related wellbeing. She is currently undertaking a PhD focusing on risk and protective factors associated with children’s mental health and coping in the early years of school.

Research

Laura’s research has focused mainly on wellbeing in a school context. She has studied links between self-efficacy, resilience, and burnout in teachers of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and is currently undertaking a PhD focusing on risk and protective factors associated with children’s mental health and coping in the early years of school. She has also been part of an interdisciplinary research team focused on analysing children’s portrayal of talking through drawings. Laura has an interest in psychology related to development and learning in early and middle childhood.

Laura has also assisted with research related to assessing surveillance risks associated with multi-user telecommunication plans for users vulnerable to domestic and family violence. She has an interest in social psychology, particularly in school and occupational contexts.
