Brian Daly came to CSU following a 30-year career in operational policing.
In his former career with the NSW Police Force, Brian served in metropolitan areas, and also a number of rural locations around the state. Brian also taught in recruit and operational law enforcement courses for a 3-year period at the Police Academy, and his operational emergency management experience has seen him teach and assess at a number of emergency management forums and courses. As a result of his service, Brian came to the University with wide ranging experience in operational policing, police management, and emergency management.
Brian's teaching experience includes teaching law and police procedure across a number of recruit and policing-based courses, along with teaching as a senior weapons instructor for both student police and operational police officers in the field. His links with the University since 1993 have also seen Brian work in a number of undergraduate and post-graduate courses and distance education subjects, along with working internationally in Canada, India, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom.
Brian performed the role of Course Coordinator and discipline expert with the University for a number of years in the large Bachelor of Policing and Bachelor of Policing (Investigations) courses. Brian is now undertaking the role of Course Director, with responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate policing and security courses in the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security.
