Profile

Ken graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Southampton University in 1977, and completed a Master of Science in Professional & Policy Studies (Crime and Policing), with the University of Portsmouth in 1992.

Ken retired as a police officer in 2009. His career spanned 27 years and was spent predominantly within the Criminal Investigation Department. He held command level ranks for 17 years, across a number of disciplines including Head of Professional Standards Department; a Senior Investigating Officer, with responsibility for investigation of major crime cases and also the Chief of Staff to the Chief Constable.

In Ken's 11 years at the School of Policing Studies, he has taught on the Associate Degree in Policing Practice, as both a subject and session coordinator, and the Associate Head of School.

Ken was appointed Head of School in 2016.
