B Bus (Accounting), MICLA Shane joined the Centre for Customs Excise Studies in 2008, following a career of more than 37 years in the Australian Customs Service. Shane worked in a variety of roles covering most aspects of Customs activities in the Victorian region and in central office. Shane was also the Australian Customs representative in Washington for four years in the mid-90s. His final five years in Customs were as Director of Compliance operations. Since commencing with CCES Shane has undertaken consultancy work in South East Asia and the Pacific. He has delivered an array of training courses in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, as well as on-line, and has been the convenor of two of the units in the Post Graduate program, Regulatory Compliance Management and Customs Management Theory and Practice. Shane holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Master of International Customs Law and Administration.Academic Staff
