Profile

After a career in policing, Rod pursued degrees in policing, criminology, theology, and philosophy which culminated in doctoral research investigating the phenomenology of somatics and embodied practice.

Rod’s research in somatosensory immersion observed practitioners of self-defence, the rites of passage they must go through, and the processes of liminality associated with identity and formation of the self.

Rod is currently a full-time lecturer for the associate degree of policing practice with Charles Sturt University.

Rod’s research interests include continental philosophy, body theology, and phenomenology of embodied practice.
