Arif is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Mathematics, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences, Charles Sturt University. He has earned his PhD from the Macquarie University Sydney in 2010, MS Electronic Engineering from GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in 2004, Pakistan and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in 2000, Pakistan.

Arif has worked as a sessional lecturer at Macquarie University, as Assistant Professor at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University Pakistan from 2010 to 2013. Arif is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and a Professional member of Engineers Australia.

Arif's research interests include MIMO wireless systems, Ad-Hoc networks and Information security in wireless networks. He is the Leader of the Advanced Networks Research Group (ANRG) at Charles Sturt University.

Teaching Responsibilities

Arif has developed and taught a number of subjects in the School of Computing and Mathematics, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences, Charles Sturt University. He has used innovative technologies and pedagogies in his subject design and teaching both in the class and online. Some of the subjects where he has been involved in design and teaching are:

Research Focus

Arif's broad research interests are, but not limited to, in MIMO wireless systems, ad-hoc networks and communication & computer system security. He is also interested in wireless body area networks, cloud computing architecture and security and resource allocation in wireless systems. He actively publishes in refereed journals, international conferences, symposiums and workshops.
