The Cyber Security Research Group (CSRG) is a highly interdisciplinary research group comprising nationally and internationally recognised researchers with expertise in:

• Ransomware/malware detection and analysis
• Big data analytics and data mining
• AI-driven threat detection and predictive security
• Cloud & IoT security
• Human-centric cybersecurity and social engineering
• Critical infrastructure protection and digital forensics
• Threat intelligence in the dark web

Beyond cybersecurity, our research intersects with population health, sustainable agriculture, environmental data modelling, policy analysis, and social network analytics. We actively collaborate with business organisations, academic institutions, and government bodies to apply cybersecurity principles across multiple domains.

CSRG actively contributes to Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy, playing a key role in national and international cybersecurity initiatives. As a research participant in the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC), we led the research theme on “Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing in a Hyperconnected World” and participated in various projects. Our research outcomes support national security, policy-making, and industry-driven cybersecurity advancements, helping to enhance Australia’s readiness and response to cyber threats in critical sectors such as defence, finance, healthcare, agriculture, and regional infrastructure.
