Vine nutrition

This research project aims to support wine grape growers by developing an innovative tool for rapid and accurate assessment of vine nutritional disorders.

A multi-disciplinary team of viticulturists, plant physiologists, and machine learning specialists from NSW DPI and Charles Sturt University designed and tested a prototype mobile application to address the challenge of symptom confusion in vine nutrition. The app, known as VITIDoC, serves as a decision support tool in the field and has since been commercialised through global agtech company Deep Planet. The project lays the groundwork for future advancements in digital agriculture and precision viticulture.
